Artisan Builds

Some software exists to serve millions of people in approximately the right way. Other software exists to serve a small number of people in exactly the right way. The Gist Mill builds the second kind.

An artisan build is small in scope, considered in execution, and made to fit its setting. A concierge agent for a single bar or beach. A spaced-repetition study companion for a single nurse working through a stack of arrhythmia strips. A pocket-sized tool for a specialist's workflow that no off-the-shelf product would ever bother to build. Each one is its own small thing, made with care.

Some artisan builds begin as inquiries from outside the studio. Others originate inside it — ideas that find their occasion when the right person asks. Both are welcome.

Artisan Builds is not the right fit for enterprise infrastructure, network security, financial systems, or anything else that requires certified specialists, regulatory clearance, or a team. Saying so plainly is part of the service.
